I'd like to share on a subject I call "The Cure" in my post today.  

The movie industry over the years has put out countless movies that portray a villain who wants to rule the world. One who has come into possession of a dangerous substance that could wipe out the entire human race if released into the atmosphere time and time again. 

And then there's always that hard to come by antidote that only the same villain has in their possession for self preservation. Anyone who is exposed to the dangerous substance dies within minutes unless the hard to come by antidote is administered.  

Then there is always the star of the movie, say it is 007 or Ethan Hunt or the avengers who through some impossible, near death maneuvers always end up frustrating the villains plans. They kill the villain, seize control of the dangerous sustance or stop it's launch into the atmosphere, and acquire the antidote, thus saving the world.  

The movie industry does not realize this, but they are telling the story of human existence as portrayed in the Bible. Jesus is our star who saves this world from sin and death.  

You see, the Bible starts with God creating a beautiful habitation for mankind in Genesis 1. God then makes Adam and Eve to dwell in the paradise He created. 

Then enter the devil, the original villain in the form of a cunning serpent, a villain seeking to rule over creation. He is armed with a virus that would poison and taint the human form inherently. That virus is called lies that lead to sin and death. This virus creates the God void in the human heart.  

You see, Satan a.k.a Lucifer, a beautiful angel had sought to dethrone YAHWEH, his master. He wanted to be God, but miserably failed in his campaign. He lost the vote, I mean the battle and got expelled from Heaven, and is awaiting final sentence.  

Here's how the prophet Isaiah describes what happened; 

You said in your heart, ‘I will ascend to the heavens; I will raise my throne above the stars of God; I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly, on the utmost heights of Mount Zaphon. I will ascend above the tops of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.’ But you are brought down to the realm of the dead, to the depths of the pit. (Isaiah 14:13-15)

 Since Satan failed in his mission to become God, and was cast out of Heaven, he has sought to taint and pervert anything that is of God. All he has to do is trigger with lies the inherent virus he planted in Adam and Eve our original parents. He does this so he can then in some lesser way enthrone himself as God in the lives of those he manages to deceive as he did our original parents. He seeks to occupy the God void he created. 

When people say these days that they found God when they became homosexual, or transgender, Satan is the god they are referring to. Why? Because like the prophet Isaiah says, it has always been Satan's mission to be God. After his failed coup in Heaven and fall from grace, he acts as pretend god. He masquerades, fakes it to appear as God. His aim is to mislead, so as to pervert and taint YAHWEH"S original design and plan for mankind.  

If God approved of homosexuality today, He would have to apologize to Sodom and Gomorah. There are many other things God hates offcourse. Like; injustice, gossip, adultery, dishonest scales or cheating, manipulation, false testimony, murder (abortion is murder because life begins at conception just like a tree begins in seedling form. If we dismissed tree seedlings as nothing, we would have no trees.) 

All of these things came into play as a result of the dangerous sustance the original villain, Satan successfully released into Adam and Eves atmosphere which got embedded in their DNA, and which we inherited, and which created the God void. You see, before the fall, Adam and Eve enjoyed perfect communion with YAHWEH.  

Jesus came to planet earth as the antidote. He came to restore the communion we lost, to fill the God void.

Many people today look for a remedy to the God void by finding solace in their pets, in drugs, food, in sex, in alternative lifestyles, money, material things, even in making life altering transgender decisions.  

All this in hope of filling the God void, but in all honesty, it is never filled. Trying to fill the God void with the cosmetic and superficial is called idolatry. Jesus came to fill that God void. 

Only Jesus can fill that empty void that nothing else in this world can. Jesus is the antidote to the dangerous sustance Satan released into the earth's atmosphere. True joy and happiness is an inside job. It is when Jesus fills the God void all these external things people depend on cannot.  

I can say this with confidence and as a testimony because I have found true and enduring joy in knowing Jesus and following Jesus and giving Jesus precedence over my life. I often find myself happy for nothing after the bottom has long fallen out. Even in the face of severe trial and suffering, and God only knows, I have experienced my faith share of trial and suffering. 

Like the Apostle Paul, I know what it is to have plenty and what it is to suffer catastrophic loss, and to be desperately in need. I find it easier to forgive and let go and not gold a grudge and not react in anger to insults because of Jesus. I know what it means to have peace that passes understanding because I have found it in Jesus. Don't get me wrong I'm not always 100%. But, because of Jesus I'm always close.  

Finishing off in movie lingo; Jesus is the antidote. He is our conquering hero. He is the star of humanity's story. He is our perfect 007, our perfect avenger, our perfect mission impossible man - Ethan Hunt. Jesus is the answer for this world today.  

Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them. (Hebrews 7:25) 

Holy Spirit, You alone know how to convict this world of truth. I can write about it, but You alone know how to illuminate the hearts of people. You alone can open their eyes to see the life saving, eternal truth of the Father. Illuminate this world I pray. Awaken Your church from slumber, from participating in the enemy's agenda in ignorance. Let Your Kingdom come. Amen!
